Costa Rica (USD with Contact Information)

Explore Costa Rica “It’s yachting, not cruising” Enjoy the difference.

Costa Rica Pura Vida, is a phrase meaning “plenty of life”, “full of life”, “this is living!” or “going great”. In Costa Rica the phrase “Pura Vida” is used as a greeting or a farewell and it exists in their vernacular for good reason. Costa Rica is full of life! Discover dense jungles, active volcanos, exotic wildlife and pristine beaches. For the first time S EA D REAM I will be transiting the Panama Canal to spend several weeks exploring the exotic shores of Costa Rica. S EA D REAM has arranged for Christopher Alfaro, a highly qualified locally licensed Expert-Naturalist to sail aboard all Costa Rica voyages. He will be providing lectures for all guests in the Main Salon as well as leading most of the Land Adventures. This paradise of active volcanoes and beautiful beaches has abundant wildlife including over 14,000 butterfly species and 1,200 varieties of orchids. The surfing, hiking, rafting, zip lines and deep sea fishing is among the best in the world. November 9, 2013, S EA D REAM I will sail from Barbados to Panama City, Panama. The 10-night voyage calls on Isla de Margarita and The Los Roques Islands of Venezuela; Curaçao; Cartagena, Colombia; San Blas, Panama including a transit of the Panama Canal; all of which are “firsts” for S EA D REAM . From Panama, S EA D REAM I sails to Caldera, Costa Rica, making it her home port for six consecutive voyages. The last of these voyages spends New Year’s Eve in vibrant Panama City, Panama.

“We really had a great time which far exceeded our expectations.” Mr. & Mrs. Michael Ambrose, Sugar Land, TX

Drake Bay

Drake Bay is located in the northern region of the Osa Peninsula in Costa Rica. Formerly one of the most remote settlements in the country, it’s growing popularity has meant increased access for tourists, and gradual development has brought increased amenities. Despite this, the area still retains the atmosphere of exploration that makes a vacation to the region so exciting. Quite literally a tropical paradise, the region boasts miles of pristine beaches, spectacular lagoons and coves ideal for scuba diving, as well as leafy palms that fringe the coastline, making Drake Bay an ideal place for those looking to enjoy a quieter vacation in Costa Rica. One of the premier attractions that vacationers won’t want to miss is Corcovado National Park. Corcovado remains one of the most stunningly beautiful conservation areas in the country.

Quepos

Located fewer than 100 miles (160 km) from San José, on the Central Pacific coast of Costa Rica, are the very popular towns of Quepos and much smaller, Manuel Antonio. Quepos offers visitors great restaurants, bars and a lively nightlife. Quepos is the gateway to Manuel Antonio National Park. Manuel Antonio has the most popular National Park and beach in Costa Rica. The town is named for the indigenous Quepoa Indians who inhabited the region during the colonial era. Quepos offers fishing for numerous varieties of fish, especially Pacific Sailfish. Peak billfish fishing season is from November through April.

6

Isla de Cobia Located in the Gulf of Chiriquí, Coiba National Park is off Panama’s Pacific coast. Coiba National Park (Nacional Parque Coiba) is a group of 38 islands including Coiba Island (Isla Coiba) and the waters surrounding them. Identified by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site in 2005, Coiba National Park offers rich and well preserved natural resources. Because Isla Coiba served Panama as a penal colony, access to the island was very restricted. Almost by accident, 80% of the islands natural resources have survived untouched and flourished through limited human contact. The Panamanian government has taken great measures to preserve the National Park.

San Juan del Sur

San Juan del Sur is a municipality and coastal town on the Pacific Ocean, in the Rivas region of south-west Nicaragua. San Juan del Sur is popular among surfers and is a vacation spot for many Nicaraguan families and foreign tourists. Its population is approximately 18,500, consisting largely of families engaged in fishing and foreigners from the United States, Canada and Europe. While the local economy was, for many years, based on fishing and shipping, it has shifted towards tourism in the last 20 years. In October 2002, to mark the city’s 150th anniversary, it was formally designated the “Port of San Juan del Sur” and a “Tourism City of Nicaragua.”

S EA D REAM has arranged wonderful Land Adventure options to explore the volcanos, as well as Grenada.

Yachting Life

S EA D REAM ’ S twin mega yachts are a balance of casual comfort and refined elegance. “Yachting” defines the lifestyle aboard.

From the moment you are welcomed aboard, the smiling faces make you feel as if you are with friends aboard a private yacht. Be as relaxed or as active as you like. It is all about personal choice.

As day turns to night, pre-dinner cocktails call for mingling with friends and enjoying the hors d’oeuvres.

Accompanied by the live sounds of a guitar, the multiple course, leisurely dinner served under the stars on deck or in the elegantly appointed Dining Salon, is sure to delight. At night you could try your luck in the Casino or enjoy a libation at the Top of The Yacht Bar. Sit back and enjoy a Starlit Movie™ or concert under the stars around the pool deck. Since our founding in 2001, S EA D REAM YACHT CLUB , with its twin, elegant mega-yachts S EA D REAM I and II, has received multiple awards, honors and accolades from authoritative travel publications, various industry organizations and unsolicited guest comments. The 2013 Berlitz Guide to Cruising & Cruise Ships, announced in September 2012 that the 112-guest mega yachts S EA D REAM I and S EA D REAM II have again achieved the top two ratings in the ‘Boutique Ships’ category (50 – 250 passengers).
